As the final school bell rings and backpacks are set aside for the summer, I want to take a moment to celebrate this special time in our communities. For many students, it’s the long-awaited start of summer break—a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy the sunshine with family and friends. And for our Grade 12 graduates, it’s a powerful milestone: the closing of one chapter and the beginning of a new adventure. Whether you’re heading to college, the workforce, or exploring what’s next, we’re proud of you and excited for your future.
This summer, I encourage everyone to get out and enjoy the beauty around us—our beaches, lakes, trails, and parks are more than just scenery; they’re gathering places that bring us together. Let’s make time for each other, for laughter, and for the simple joys of being part of a caring, connected community.
I am pleased that the Province will be joining the Canada Strong Pass making it more affordable for families to get out and enjoy all that our province has to offer. I hope to see you this summer at one of the many community events and activities here in Halifax Atlantic and across the city and province.
The Spryfield Farmers’ Market is back for the season, check out their website for more info and to take advantage of another opportunity to support local.
