October always feels like a turning point. The days grow shorter, the evenings come earlier, and the familiar chill in the air reminds us that fall has truly arrived. It is the season of sweaters, warm drinks, and beautiful scenery, and our community might just be one of the best places to experience it. The colours along our roads, trails, and parks are incredible right now. Whether you are out walking the dog, taking your kids for a bike ride, or just enjoying a quiet moment outdoors, it is hard not to stop and appreciate how lucky we are to call this place home.
With the early sunsets, it is also a good time to remind everyone to stay cautious on the roads. Turn your headlights on a little earlier and watch out for people walking or biking home after dark. A little extra attention goes a long way in keeping everyone safe.
Halloween is just around the corner, and I know many families are already getting costumes ready. It is always one of the most exciting nights of the year for kids and one of the busiest for our neighbourhoods. Please remember to drive carefully, keep your lights on, and make sure your walkways are well-lit if you are handing out treats. These small acts help make the evening safe and fun for everyone.
I want to take a moment to express how grateful I am to represent such a caring, resilient, and community-minded part of Nova Scotia. Every day I see examples of people stepping up, volunteering, supporting local events, helping neighbours, and working together to make our area stronger. It is that spirit that makes this community so special, and it is a privilege to serve as your MLA.
Wishing everyone a safe, happy, and peaceful October.
Take time to enjoy this beautiful season and everything our community has to offer.
