Brendan attending community skate

Checking In: February in Halifax Atlantic

As we head into the final week of February, the House of Assembly is sitting and our work at Province House is well underway. These sitting days are an important opportunity to raise local concerns, debate legislation, and push for progress on the issues that matter most to families here in our community and across Nova Scotia.

Over the coming weeks, I continue to bring forward the voices and experiences of constituents in Halifax Atlantic—whether it’s access to services, support for seniors, housing challenges, or community infrastructure, and I take that responsibility seriously every day.

While much of my work happens in the legislature, my priority remains staying connected to you. Hearing directly from residents helps guide my work and ensures decisions being made at the provincial level reflect the realities people are facing at home.

In addition to my work at Province House, I’ve appreciated the opportunity to stay active in our community over the past month. I was pleased to host a community skate, which brought families together for an afternoon of fun and connection. I also had the chance to take part in Family Literacy Day celebrations and visit students and staff at Chebucto Heights Elementary School. These events are a wonderful reminder of the strength of our community and the importance of supporting opportunities for families and young people to learn, grow, and come together.

As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office if you need assistance, have concerns, or want to share your ideas. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve and look forward to keeping you updated as the session continues.
